Norman Business Incubator Receives Certification

The Norman Economic Development Coalition recently opened a second technology based business incubator at 3209 N. Flood that has been certified by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. NEDC also operates an incubator at 710 Asp Ave. in Norman.

HealthPlex set for August grand opening

Grand opening for the Norman Regional Health System’s HealthPlex will be Aug. 29th. The HealthPlex is at the Southwest Corner of Interstate 35 and Tecumseh Road. It will house cardiovascular, orthopedic, women’s and children’s departments.

Norman Chamber of Commerce Has a New President

On Thursday April 30th, Cindy Nashert became the new Norman Chamber of Commerce president for 2009-2010. Nashert became active and joined the Norman Chamber 10 years ago.

iMap from Weather Decision Technologies Relays World's First Live Broadcast of Geo-referenced Tornadoes Using Google Maps

This tornado season, WDT was the first ever to bring live streaming videos captured by storm chasers from the field, using real time GPS/streaming video, all geo-referenced within an interactive platform. The first tornado was recorded by Verne Carlson, on March 7 2009, in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Main Street landmark will be featured on Food Network show

Restaurateur, Food Network star and car junkie Guy Fieri was at The Diner in Norman this month filming a segment for "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives." Mark Amspacher, owner of The Diner, made a batch of his two-time state champion chili for Fieri. The chili has taken the Oklahoma state award twice and then competed in the nationals.

Interurban returns to Norman

The Interurban has pulled to a stop in Norman. Although the Interurban trolleys haven’t run in years, the restaurant chain bearing their name has a new store in the city where the restaurant began.

Scott Risk Hair Studio Has Joined University North Park

After reading about Norman being one of the best cities in which to live Scott Risk decided to move here and start a hair studio in University North Park.
