NEDC Opens Second Technology Based Business Incubator

Norman Economic Development Coalition has recently opened a second technology based incubator. The new incubator, eTec2, is fully occupied. The Oklahoma Department of Commerce certified eTec2 in March 2009.

State Aeronautics Offical Stresses Importance of Norman's Airport, State's Aviation Industry

A state aeronautics official says that regional business airports and Oklahoma's aviation repair and maintenance industry are two of the best economic drivers in the state. Using business aircraft is a benefit to Norman when executives fly in to meet with other businesses.

A radar specifically built as an education tool for University of Oklahoma meteorology and engineering students has been unveiled.The OU-PRIME, or Polarimetric Radar for Innovations in Meteorology and Engineering, was commissioned to be a highly advanced radar.

Research scientists at the National Weather Center are getting ready to launch their most ambitious tornado study.VORTEX2- also called V2- is a field experiment to study tornadoes from every angle, much like its forerunner, VORTEX1, which was launched in 1995.
