UNP Corporate Centre ready for take off

The Norman Economic Development Coalition has big plans for University North Park, the Norman development just east of Interstate 35 and north of Super Target. NEDC’s goal is to expand economic development in hopes of attracting new jobs to Norman.

Proving that Norman Can Have it All - a High-Tech Economy & a High-Quality of Life

The Norman Economic Development Coalition is a unique partnership of the University of Oklahoma, the City of Norman and the Norman business community through the Norman Chamber of Commerce. From the emerging Technology entrepreneurial center (eTec) to the Norman Business Park and the 60-acres at the University North Park that NEDC intends to develop on, NEDC demonstrates how much of a commitment they are to the community.

Businesses coming to University North Park

New restaurants, shops and stores are coming to the 280-acre retail development at University North Park. This development will be a huge value but yet an even bigger amenity to the city.

Norman schools score high on ACT

According to American College Testing (ACT), the average score for both Norman North and Norman High School was 23.5, which is higher than the states average score for 2008.

National Institute of Standards and Technology Selects SWeNT Product as SRM Starting Material

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will use SouthWest NanoTechnologies Inc.’s SWeNT SG65 single-wall carbon nanotubes, manufactured by the CoMoCAT process, as the starting material for a Standard Reference Material. SWeNT is a former tenant in NEDC's technology incubator, eTec.

Telogical Systems business update

A University of Oklahoma football game and a restaurant in the Washington area brought two OU fans together in a chance meeting that paid dividends for both. The Oklahoma connection for Telogical Systems is expanding. Telogical Systems is a former tenant in NEDC’s technology-based incubator, eTec.

Norman Public Schools nominated Norman Regional Health System for the Barbara Lynch Community Partner Award.

Toby Keith ventures open in Cleveland County

After three years, Toby Keith’s and Hunter Miller’s East Village project in Norman is nearing completion. The development consists of three buildings containing 14 apartments on the second floor and 18 two-story lofts on the third floor.
